Challenge
Kessler Dental Associates offered a home-grown membership plan that was difficult to manage and had serious limitations. Chief among them, the plan had to be run on a calendar year basis, creating a limited window in December and January for new members to subscribe and existing members to renew. The office team had to call patients each year, sell them on the plan, and then collect payment information. It was a very time-consuming process that overlapped with the busiest time of the year!
To make matters worse, new patients who visited the practice between February and December were hesitant to pay the annual subscription since they would be covered for less than 12 months. As a result, it was very difficult for Kessler Dental Associates to maintain and grow membership. Dr. Lon Kessler, the founder of Kessler Dental Associates, decided to take action.

Membership Plan Details
- Kessler Dental Associates offers three dental care plans customized to fit their patients’ needs. Each includes preventive care, emergency exams, and discounts off other treatment. The plans include:
- Child Complete for patients 13 and younger
- Adult Complete for patients 14 and older, and
- Perio for patients with Periodontal disease
- A 10% discount off non-preventive procedures so patients can take advantage of cost-savings for additional recommended treatment
- A 15% subscription discount for any additional family member(s) added to a membership
Kessler Dental Associates designed, implemented, and promoted their membership plan easily with support from the Kleer Success Team. The Kleer team guided them through their onboarding process starting with a design and pricing consultation. The Kleer Success Team then provided a training session for the entire office team to help them properly manage, promote, and sell the membership plan to their patients. To spread the word about their new membership plan, the practice promoted it a number of different ways. They placed the Kleer customized marketing brochures in their office, added the Kleer widget to their website, created a dedicated page on their practice web site, and discussed the plan with all uninsured patients before, during, and after their visits. Kessler Dental Associates also created “Ask Me About Our membership plan” buttons that the team wears to promote their membership plan to every patient who comes in the office. Kessler Dental Associates now has a membership plan that is successful and easy to manage. They replaced their home-grown, paper-based plan that was underperforming and causing administrative burdens and frustrations for the team. They can also sign up patients all year round enabling them to grow their membership with every uninsured patient visit.
